Skydive Dubai breaks Guinness World Records™️ title

Skydive Dubai added another record to its existing tally of Guinness World Records last week.

On Thursday, November 29, 2018, Skydive Dubai for flying the largest flag while skydiving. The spectacular accomplishment was achieved at Skydive Dubai’s Desert Campus location in front of officials from Guinness World Records MENA, Skydive Dubai staff, sponsors of the project and spectators.

A national flag of the UAE was chosen for this astonishing achievement. The flag measured 4,885.65 square-meters and weighed 95 kilos. The skydiver exited a helicopter from 9,500 feet above ground level (AGL) before unfurling the expansive flag. The flag was contained in a bag that was specially designed for the project. The bag was one meter long, by 60 cm high and 60 cm wide, and weighed a total of  185 kilos (with the flag). A special military tandem container, which was flown in from the United States, was used to attach the bag to the skydiver.

The record-breaking flag was then flown over the iconic, manmade Palm Jumeirah Island, on Saturday, December 1, as part of the UAE’s National Day holiday weekend. With the successful completion of this record, Skydive Dubai continues to push the boundaries and strive for excellence, while bringing accolades and recognition to Dubai and to the United Arab Emirates.

    Skydive Dubai’s Guinness World Records

– Skydive Dubai and Balloon Adventures UAE broke two official Guinness World Records in 2013 with most people to parachute jump from a balloon (40 skydivers) and simultaneously releasing the most skydivers at one time (25 skydivers).

– Skydive Dubai sponsored Soul Flyers World Champions Vince Reffet and Fred Fugen break a new Guinness World Record in 2014 by for the highest base jump from above the pinnacle of the World’s Tallest Building.

– Skydive Dubai athlete Ernesto Gainza, with landing the world’s smallest parachute, a JVX 35 sq. foot canopy entered Skydive Dubai into Guinness World Records in 2014.

– Skydive Dubai set a Guinness World Records for the largest flag flown while skydiving (parachute jump) in 2018. The flag size was 4,885.65 sqm.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO BECOME A LICENSED SKYDIVER?

The first thing you need to do is take our Accelerated Free Fall Course (AFF). Afterwards you work towards you’re A (25 jumps), B (100 jumps), C (200 jumps) and D (500 jumps) license by fulfilling the requirements for each.
