What aircraft do you operate?
Skydive Dubai operates multiple aircraft, including DHC Twin-Otters, Cessna Caravans, and Pilatus Porters. The rear-exit Sherpa is the newest addition to the Skydive Dubai fleet, and on occasion we also have helicopters for such events as boogies and night jumps.
Balloon jumping is also available from Skyhub Dubai, weather permitting, at the Desert Campus. Contact Skyhub directly via their Facebook page to make a booking.
Can I purchase a skydive as a gift?
Of course! Personal tandem gift certificates at The Palm can be purchased online or at The Palm drop zone, and are perfect for the special adrenaline junkie in your life.
Please note: Gift Certificates are for personal use only. If your company or business would like to purchase a skydive for commercial purposes, please contact our marketing department. Use the Contact Us form to reach out to them.
Do I really need a helmet?
Yes. Every skydiver at both The Palm and The Desert Campus must wear a helmet.
Do I need an audible altimeter?
Audibles are mandatory for freefly, vertical, and tracking skydives at both The Palm and The Desert Campus. They are highly recommended for all types of skydives, but are not compulsory for other disciplines.
Do I need an AAD?
Absolutely! AADs are mandatory at both the Palm and Desert Campus. Argus AADs are not currently accepted at either drop zone.
Do you have packers?
Yes. Packing tickets at the Desert Campus can be purchased from the gear store (cash only). At the Palm pay the packers directly (cash only).
Can I buy Skydive Dubai merchandise?
Of course! We provide an array of equipment options at our merchandise stores located at The Palm and The Desert Campus, such as altimeters, helmets, and gear bags. We also have our own clothing range including SD hats, t-shirts, beanies, and even shoes!
Can I freefly on my own?
For safety reasons, solo freeflyers at both drop zones must be signed off by a Skydive Dubai instructor prior to conducting solo skydives.
Can I do Balloon Jumps?
Yes! Balloon jumps are available at the Desert Campus from Skyhub Dubai, weather permitting.
For balloon jumps, you must have a minimum of a B licence, completed 200 skydives, and own your own gear. There is no rental equipment available for balloon jumps. Please contact Skyhub directly via their Facebook Page to organise a balloon jump.
Can I work in Skydiving?
Of course! Certified coaching and instructional ratings courses are available at the Desert Campus for those want to progress their skydiving experience and career. Can I pay by cash and credit card at Skydive Dubai?
Cash and Credit Cards are accepted at both the Palm and the Desert Campus. American Express is not accepted at either drop zone.
Please note, Skydive Dubai cafés accept cash (UAE Dirham) only, packing tickets and rigging services must also be paid for in cash (UAE Dirham) only. ATMs are available in the main building at the Palm, and at Inflight Dubai; which is located next to the Desert Campus.
What currencies do you accept at the Palm and the Desert Campus?
Cash is accepted only in AED (UAE Dirham) only.
Can I change currency at the Palm or the Desert Campus?
Sorry we do not change, nor do we accept any other currencies.
What is Skyhub?
Skyhub is an action sports and entertainment facility. At the Desert Campus they run a paramotor school, hot air ballooning, balloon jumps, and even have paintball course. At The Palm, Skyhub operates gyrocopters offering sight-seeing flights over Dubai. For more information or to book any of their activities, contact them directly via their Facebook page.

When is the Desert Campus open?

How do I get to the Desert Campus?
The Desert Campus is located just before exit 47 to Margham on the E66; which is also called locally the Dubai – Al Ain Rd. The drop zone is located approx. 35 minutes from DXB Airport and 40 minutes from the DWC Airport. Taxis are available from the airport and can bring you to the drop zone.Skydive Dubai does not provide transport to or from the Desert Campus.
What services do you offer at the Desert Campus?
We offer a full range of services starting with the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course right up to instructional level ratings. The Desert Campus also has a flight school which covers all skydiving disciplines, Flight-1 canopy courses, and full-service rigging loft, as well as gear rental, merchandise store, and packers.
What Facilities are at the Desert Campus?
Indoor facilities at the Desert Campus include 2 large packing areas, gear rental and merchandise store, team rooms, games room, and even a Starbucks. Outside, we have a café, free public gym, grass badminton court, lounge areas with hammocks and a viewing area located on the roof of the main building.
How do I become a skydiver?
The AFF school at the Desert Campus provides everything you need to learn how to skydive solo. First Jump Courses are run weekly, and our world-class instructors have thousands of jumps each, and years of experience. For more information see our School section.
What is the Flight School?
The Flight school at the Desert Campus covers instruction and coaching in everything from basic belly flying to formation skydiving training, tracking jumps, all disciplines of freefly, tracking suits and wingsuit coaching. Free load organising is also available when the coaches are available. To find out more see the Flight School page under the Experienced section of our website.
Can I rent gear?
Yes. Our gear rental and merchandise store at the Desert Campus has a variety of rigs and various canopy sizes for rent, as well as helmets, and altimeters. Other equipment such as audible altimeters will need to be purchased if required. Please note, a valid form of ID is required when renting equipment.
Can I book tunnel time with you?
Inflight Dubai, currently the world’s largest indoor vertical wind tunnel, is located just one minute from the Desert Campus. It is also equipped with an ATM. Please contact them directly to make a booking. More information can be found on the Inflight Dubai website.
Do you have a rigging loft at The Desert Campus?
Yes! Our full-service rigging loft is available for parachute and equipment maintenance and repair. For more information contact the Desert Campus rigging loft using this form.
How much does the AFF course cost and how long does it last?

There are many factors involved in how quickly you will complete your 8 AFF skydives, such as your skills, how often you come to the drop zone and the weather. We say to leave around 1-2 weeks to complete your AFF course, but it may take a little less or more time.
Do you have gear rental and how much are jump tickets?
We have an array of skydiving equipment for hire. For information on prices at both drop zones, please see our Prices page.
We would like to come as a group, can you accommodate us?
Of course. We welcome teams, groups and military skydivers at our Desert Campus. Please contact the Desert Campus with your planned travel dates prior to arrival to ensure a smooth manifest experience and aircraft availability, and to see if you may be eligible for any group, military, or team discounts.
Do you provide transport to/from the Desert Campus?
Skydive Dubai does not provide transportation to or from the drop zone.

What are your standard exit altitudes?
At the Desert Campus a full altitude jump is from 12,500 feet AGL and Hop and Pops are conducted from 5,500 feet. Other exit altitudes and passes are common, but must be organised with manifest prior to boarding.
At the Palm full altitude jumps are from 13,000 feet and Hop and Pops from 5,000 feet.
What do I need on arrival at the Desert Campus?
When visiting the Desert Campus for the first time, all skydivers will need to present an ID, current licence, insurance if not covered by your licence governing authority, signed and up-to-date logbook, and in-date reserve data card.
I don’t have a licence, can I still jump?
If you have not skydived before there are two options, a tandem skydive where you will be harnessed to an instructor or you can learn to skydive solo through the Accelerated Freefall program (AFF). I have started my AFF course previously, but I didn’t complete it/don’t have a licence, can I still jump at the Desert Campus?
If you have begun or completed your AFF or student progression elsewhere, you may continue at the Desert Campus. All written documentation of previous skydives and levels must be presented. A check jump will be required, and it is common to repeat a level, especially if your currency has lapsed.
I’m getting back into the sport, do I have to start again?
This depends on a number of factors, such as what level you reached previously and how long it has been since you were an active skydiver. Use the Contact Us form via the Drop Zone Briefing page to get in touch with an instructor who can assess your individual situation.
Do you run canopy courses?
Yes. The Flight-1 canopy piloting courses at the Desert Campus provide a clear comprehensive progression for skydivers of any experience level to learn and improve their canopy handling skills. To sign up for a canopy course use the canopy piloting contact form on the Canopy Piloting page.
Do I really need a helmet?

Any exception to this rule must be agreed with drop zone management beforehand. Written consent must be issued, and will be for a limited period of time only. This does not apply to sanctioned high-performance canopy competitions.

Can I freefly on my own?

Do you have different landing areas at the Desert Campus?
We have a large grass landing area, with separate landing zones for sport, student and high performance canopies. The Desert Campus also has an FAI regulation swoop pond, and a soft accuracy pad for accuracy jumpers.
This means that, as much as possible, traffic is controlled and predictable. But always be vigilant when under canopy and allow plenty of vertical, as well as horizontal separation between canopies.
Can I do Balloon Jumps?

Where can I stay?
One option is to stay at the hotel that is located on the drop zone. Kindly contact the hotel directly to find out the current room rate and to arrange a reservation. Be sure to let them know you are a skydiver visiting the drop zone.
Another option is would be to stay at the Premier Inn at Silicon Oasis You would need to rental a car or take a taxi from the hotel in order to reach the drop zone. Be sure to mention Skydive Dubai when making the reservation for a discount.
Alternatively, Dubai has many other accommodation options to suit various needs and budgets.

When is the Palm open?

What services do you offer at the Palm?
The Palm drop zone is fully equipped with a large grass landing area, full-service rigging loft, instructors offering coaching and free load organising (when available), café, and ATM. We also have two packing areas, packers, briefing area, and a merchandise store which also rents equipment.
I have not taken any canopy control courses yet. Can I take them at Skydive Dubai and when do they take place?
Yes, the Desert Campus offers the course all year long with flexible dates. Click here to find out more and register your interest with the course instructor.
Do I need to pre-book my jump dates and check-in times?
No, we only require reservations for our tandem customers. Please just come with all the required documents as listed on the Drop Zone Briefing page for a smooth manifest experience. Teams and large groups are asked to contact manifest prior to your arrival. Kindly use the form on our Contact Us page to reach them.
I don’t have 300 jumps yet. Can I still skydive at the Palm?
Sorry, but you must meet stated briefing requirements for a safe, but enjoyable experience. You are welcome to jump at our Desert Campus drop zone where all skill levels are welcomed. All details and requirements for both drop zones can be found on our Drop Zone Briefing page.
What do I need on arrival at The Palm?

I am traveling to Dubai during 2016 to skydive. Will you be open?

*Please note, for the past five years, we have held special events and competitions during the first two weeks of December where one or both drop zones were closed to public skydiving, but open to visitors. Expect the drop zone to be closed a little before and a little after the special event / competition dates.

Do I need a floatation device to skydive at the Palm?
We highly recommend wearing a floatation device, but it is not a requirement, as we have speedboats in the water at all times to pick you up should the need arise.
