New season at Desert Campus DZ set to start on September 26
We are excited to announce that the 2018-19 season at our Desert Campus DZ will return with a full-operations schedule on September 26.
Located just outside the city of Dubai, the Desert Campus DZ offers visitors a truly unique experience – skydiving over the desert. Which is why this dropzone is visited by people seeking out thrilling adventures in Dubai’s sky!
There’s something quite surreal about skydiving over Dubai’s sandy dunes. First, there’s the sheer vastness of the desert that is simply breathtaking. Couple that with the rush of a tandem skydive from 12,500 ft AGL and you’ve got yourself the adventure of a lifetime.
Tandem skydiving bookings at this location will open on Friday, August 3. You will be able to book from September 26 to the end of October.
We do ask everyone to first read through the tandem skydiving requirements to ensure you are eligible before booking your tandem skydive.
Nothing makes us happier than welcoming newbies to the world of skydiving. We love to share our passion. Carrying the distinction of being the only skydiving school in the GCC region, our Desert Campus DZ is now accepting admissions for the Accelerated Freefall (AFF) course. Starting today, those who have been bitten by the skydiving bug and are interested in learning how to skydive solo can book now their AFF first jump course; which is held on every Friday. The AFF first jump course is also offered in English and Arabic. For detailed information, please visit the School section on our website.
We’re very excited to welcome back our community of skydivers for continued fun in Dubai’s skies. Our staff is busy planning great times for you such as coaching on weekends for those interested in wingsuiting, freeflying, formation skydiving, and so much more.
On September 26, the Desert Campus DZ manifest window will open at 6:30 am, with the first planeload ready for takeoff at 7 am. Operations will continue, weather permitting, until 3 pm. These will be the hours for the first few weeks of the new season. Once the temperature cools down, stay tuned for updates regarding operational hours via our monthly newsletter or on our Experienced skydivers briefing page.
If you are a skydiver visiting from outside the UAE, that you contact our manifest staff prior to booking your hotel and purchasing airplane tickets with the dates that you would like skydive here. They can easily be reached via the contact us form our website Experienced skydivers briefing page.
And don’t worry, we have rental gear available in our gear shop for those who are in Dubai for business. For rental gear and other pricing information, kindly go here on our website. Don’t forget that the Desert Campus DZ offers 25-jump ticket and 10-jump ticket packages.
Additionally, for those wanting to take your love of skydiving to the next level and share your passion in the sky as a tandem instructor, AFF instructor or as a coach, our skydiving school offers those courses as well.
Since closing for its seasonal break in June, the Desert Campus DZ organized a recurrency weekend in July to help our community of licensed skydivers and students stay current over the summer months. If you were unable to join us then, you’re in luck as we have added two more weekends before the dropzone opens in September.
The dates to bookmark are August 3 to 4 and August 31 to September 1. The manifest window will open at 5 am, with the first planeload going up at sunrise. Operations will continue as long as the weather plays its part. Please note, as we require a minimum number of participants over both weekends we request that you contact our manifest staff in advance to confirm your attendance.
We’d also like to remind those attending the upcoming recurrency weekends to check the validity of your license and reserve to ensure a smooth check-in process. Our rigging loft crew will also be available for any tips and guidance.
If you are not current and require coaching, we advise that you contact our manifest team in advance and arrive earlier on the day to make sure you do not miss your turn. Click here to message them directly via our website.
